1 arrested, 2 suspects wanted after Monday shootings

Police have arrested one man in connection with a double shooting in east Charlotte on Monday but said two suspects were still on the loose a day later.

Thurman Armani Hill, 21, was in the Mecklenburg jail on Tuesday, being held on a $376,500 bond after being charged with several felonies, including two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and three counts of robbery. He was also charged with possession of marijuana.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. on Monday on Purser Drive, near where Eastway Drive meets Shamrock Drive. According to a police report, three men went to the victim’s home armed with guns and demanded money.

During the robbery, two people were shot and received life-threatening injuries. They were being treated at Carolinas Medical Center on Tuesday evening. Police haven’t released their names or updates on their conditions.

Two suspects fled the scene in a sport-utility vehicle, and one – a man police later identified as Hill – ran away on foot. Mark Hames contributed to this report.
