A Statesville-area man has been jailed on charges of violating a domestic violence protection order, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Stafford Grant Evans, 48, was charged with violating a domestic violence protection order and possession of a firearm in violation of a domestic violence protection order.
Investigators said a woman called them March 5 and said she had been receiving text messages and phone calls from Evans. She said she had a protection order against Evans, which forbade him to contact her.
Deputies said that when they went to Evans’ house, they saw a firearm and ammunition. They said possession of those items violated the domestic violence protection order.
