A joint investigation by Statesville police and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of a couple on drug charges, authorities say.
Brandon Lamar Adams, 28, and Kayla Latrice Daye, 26, were taken into custody Sunday evening at their home in Statesville, deputies said. They were jailed under $1.5 million bond each, authorities said.
Deputies say the investigation began several weeks ago. The two agencies were conducting separate investigations but joined forces when they learned of the overlapping probes.
Investigators said Sunday night’s search warrant of the couple’s home led to the confiscation of more than 170 grams, or more than one-third of a pound, of heroin; a firearm; and marijuana. The heroin had a street value of more than $60,000, authorities said.
