A Rowan County man who already was in trouble with the law is accused of exposing himself to a woman at a library, authorities say.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said Jeffery Wayne Massey, 41, of Salisbury, was arrested Thursday morning at the Rowan Public Library branch in Landis.
A patron at the library said a man had exposed himself to her while she was checking out books at the library counter. The woman said when she complained to the man, he covered himself.
The man remained at the library and was taken into custody by deputies. He later was identified as Massey.

Deputies charged him with indecent exposure. They said the magistrate in Salisbury realized that Massey also had an outstanding warrant for being a habitual felon. He was jailed on a $25,000 bond.
North Carolina prison records show Massey was convicted in 1994 of second-degree murder in Davidson County and served nearly 18 years in prison. He was released in August 2012.
