The first case was reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of Idlewild Road, near the corner of Monroe Road. A man told police he was approached by several people who struck him, knocking him out. The victim reported his cellphone stolen.

Then shortly before 10:45 p.m., a man said he was attacked in the 5400 block of Independence Boulevard, a few hundred yards from the other robbery. The victim said he also was beaten and robbed of several items.

Police said Gabriyel Malik Abdullah, 20, and Israel Williams, 17, were arrested Tuesday, along with the 15-year-old. Each was charged with common-law robbery and felony conspiracy, in connection with the second robbery.

On Wednesday, police arrested Jabril Forth-Ward, 18, and Jaried Mozee, 16, and charged each with two counts of common-law robbery and felony conspiracy. Investigators said Forth-Ward also was charged with conspiracy to commit common-law robbery and Mozee with resisting a public officer.

Police said the 15-year-old was taken to a juvenile facility in Gaston County.
