Man seriously hurt in west Charlotte shooting

A man was shot and seriously injured Thursday morning in west Charlotte, according to authorities.

The shooting was reported about 10:45 a.m. in the 2600 block of Reid Park Lane. That is off Tuckaseegee Road, a short distance west of Tuckaseegee Park.

Medic reported taking one person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A police spokeswoman said early Thursday afternoon that the victim was in stable condition.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a preliminary investigation indicates the shooter and the victim knew one another and had gotten into an altercation.

Police were still at the scene Thursday afternoon, conducting their investigation.
