Iredell deputies arrest father, son

A father and his son were arrested earlier this week by Iredell County authorities after a deputy allegedly witnessed a drug deal involving the son.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said Kindall Goss Sr. and his son Kindall Goss Jr. were charged in the incident Monday on Salisbury Highway southeast of Statesville.

Investigators said a deputy saw a 1986 Oldsmobile traveling eastbound on Salisbury Highway. The deputy said a check of the vehicle’s license plate indicated the car’s owner, Kindall Goss Sr., 44, of Statesville, did not have a valid driver’s license.

Before pulling the car over, however, investigators said the Oldsmobile pulled into a gas station parking lot. A deputy said he watched Kindall Goss Jr., 23, of Claremont, get out of the car and appear to make a drug transaction with two other people.

After about 25 minutes, deputies said, the Oldsmobile pulled out of the parking lot, and authorities stopped the car. Deputies called for a K-9 unit, and they said the dog indicated drugs were in the car.

Deputies said they searched the car and found six bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $4,659.98 in cash. Authorities said Goss Sr. was charged with driving while license revoked, and Goss Jr. was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
