Four Charlotte firefighters were injured Thursday morning when a firetruck overturned on a residential street in southern Mecklenburg County near the state line, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 8:20 a.m. on Ardrey Kell Road at Bridgehampton Club Drive. That is in the BridgeHampton neighborhood, west of U.S. 521.
Charlotte fire Capt. Mark Basnight said four firefighters were taken to Carolinas Medical Center “with minor injuries.” Basnight said all four were expected to be released from the hospital by the end of Thursday.

Basnight said the truck was responding to an emergency call at the time of the crash. He said no other vehicles were involved.
The overturned truck caught fire, witnesses said, and a second firetruck responding to the emergency put out the flames.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Major Crash Investigation Unit and a hazardous materials team arrived at the scene about 9:15 a.m. but had not released details about what caused the crash. A police traffic accident report was not available Thursday.
Mark Gonda, who lives about 100 feet from the crash scene, said he heard the truck sliding and then heard a bang.
“It sounded like an explosion,” Gonda said.
He said he came outside and saw smoke coming from the truck. A photo tweeted by another witness showed flames coming from the front of the overturned truck.
Skid marks were visible on the road near the crash scene.
Basnight said police are investigating what happened.
