Friends and supporters will honor the memory of Peter Michael Jordan by releasing balloons at his grave on Saturday.
Jordan, 19, was shot and killed Feb. 19 in the Landings at Northcross apartment complex off Sam Furr Road, near Birkdale Village in Huntersville.
A 911 caller, in whose apartment Jordan died, reported that the fatal bullet was fired through his front door by assailants who fled in a black, newer model Chevy Impala, according to an edited tape of the call released to the Observer by police after the paper made a public records request.
Police have made no arrests.

Jordan’s friends and supporters will gather at 5:30 p.m. at his grave in Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cornelius. They also will share stories and poems about their friend, Jordan’s mother, Carolyn Averill, said Friday.
The family is offering a $9,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Crime Stoppers is offering $1,000.
