An early Sunday fire in Huntersville destroyed one townhouse and damaged two others, according to the Huntersville Fire Department.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. Sunday on Rocky Top Drive. People who called 911 initially said people were trapped inside, but no one was found by responding crews.
It took firefighters from three departments nearly four hours to completely contain the fire, which consumed the first and second floors of the townhouse. Two adjacent homes had only minor damage.
