Charges brought in Hickory robbery

Charges have been brought against two people that Hickory police said were involved with a Friday morning robbery.

Benjamin Hill was arrested Friday morning and his wife, Crystal Marie Hill, is wanted for conspiracy to commit armed robbery, according to Hickory police.

Around 6:12 a.m., an officer saw a man running from the Q Express convenience store on Fourth Street SW. The officer got out with the man as holdup alarms from the store came into the police communications center, officials said.

The Q Express store reported an armed robbery and identified Hill as the suspect, police said. Hill had an air soft pistol in his possession and he was arrested without incident.

Hill was taken before a magistrate and placed under a $77,000 secured bond, officials said. Hill’s wife is also facing charges and anyone with information about her whereabouts should call the Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551.
