Today’s traffic: Truck overturns on I-485 near airport

The latest collision affecting traffic in the Charlotte region Monday morning is on the inner loop of Interstate 485 in western Mecklenburg County.

The N.C. Highway Patrol reported that a truck overturned about 8:45 a.m. on I-485, north of the Wilkinson Boulevard interchange. At least one injury was reported.

Troopers said the ramp from I-485 to I-85 has been closed at 9:05 a.m., and they said the ramp probably will remain closed for a while, so the wreck can be cleared. Delays are building quickly in the area.

North

I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Brawley School Road (Exit 35) down to Gilead Road (Exit 23).

East

Albemarle Road inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Lawyers Road to Sharon Amity Road.

Eastway Drive at Arnold Drive ... Collision with injuries; moderate delays.

Southeast

I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Providence Road to I-77.

Independence Boulevard inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 30-40 mph from Sharon Amity Road to uptown.

South

I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 30-40 mph from Carowinds Boulevard up to Clanton Road.

West

I-485 inner loop ... Overturned truck north of Wilkinson Boulevard; heavy delays; ramp to I-85 closed.
