4 charged in Rowan County car break-ins

Rowan County sheriff’s investigators have arrested and charged three men and a woman in recent car break-ins in the Rainey Road area of Salisbury.

Stolen from unlocked cars on the night of June 15 and the morning of June 16 were copper and brass plumbing pipes and fixtures, electronics, children’s shoes, medication and a car stereo, authorities said.

The people arrested walked to the vehicles from their nearby homes, investigators said.

The stolen scrap metal was taken to Foil’s Inc. on Klumac Road, where investigators recovered the materials.

Charged were Angel Gale Flake, 35; Michael Manuel Flake, 31; James Edward Coe, 21; and Carlos Manuel Rodriguez Jr., 22.

Angel Flake, Coe and Rodriguez were jailed under $25,000 bonds and Michael Flake under a $100,000 bond.

Coe also was arrested in 2012 for 25 car break-ins in the same area, authorities said.

Rodriguez received an extra $500 secured bond for trying to run from the Salisbury police when they went to arrest him, investigators said.
