Following up on an anonymous tip from concerned residents, Lincoln County sheriff’s investigators discovered their sixth meth lab of the year and arrested three suspects on Wednesday.
Authorities found the lab at a home in the 3000 block of Chinook Trail near Lincolnton and arrested and charged three occupants of the home.
No one came to the door when officers knocked.
Officers said they found a burn barrel behind the home that contained the remains of two one-pot meth labs and precursors.

They secured a search warrant for the home and located three people inside, along with meth precursors including iodine salt, Coleman fuel and coffee filters.
Shawn Lee Black, 42; Charles Adam Basden, 28; and Krystal Rose Revels, 28, were charged with one felony count each of manufacturing a controlled substance schedule II and possessing/distributing meth precursor and one misdemeanor count of possessing drug paraphernalia. The drug paraphernalia charge stems from marijuana pipes seized at the home.
During a first court appearance Thursday, Basden was given a $175,000 secured bond while bonds for Revels and Black were set at $150,000.
“The majority of our investigations stem from tips phoned in by the community,” narcotics Lt. Jason Reid said.
The tip line number is 704-736-8422, and all tips will be investigated, Reid said.
