A 27-year-old man is accused of robbing a bank in drag, wearing a red dress and purple glitter lipstick, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Ahmad Jasper Holmes was arrested at about 3 p.m. Friday on St. Helena Island and charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, third-degree assault and battery and criminal conspiracy, according to the jail log.
He has been identified as one of the suspects involved in the June 24 robbery of a Regions Bank on Lady’s Island, a Sheriff's Office news release said.
Police said a black man wearing a red dress, a black hat, a wig and purple glitter lipstick demanded money and then fled, likely leaving the scene by bicycle, investigators say.
