Iredell authorities seek man in firearm theft case

Iredell County sheriff’s deputies are looking for an 18-year-old man from the northern part of the county in connection with an alleged firearms theft earlier this month.

The sheriff’s office said it is looking for Matthew Alamon Ramseur, of Harmony. Investigators said Ramseur has been linked to the theft of firearms late Sept. 6 or early Sept. 7 from a residence on Williamsburg Road in Olin.

Another man, identified by deputies as Dustin Michael Baker, 19, of Harmony, has been arrested in the case. Investigators said they received several reports that Baker was trying to sell firearms and ammunition in the northern part of Iredell County. Baker was charged with felony larceny of firearms, authorities said.

Authorities said Ramseur is wanted on charges of felony larceny of firearms. They said he also is wanted on possession of stolen firearms, from a case in 2013.

Anyone with information on Ramseur’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 704-878-3180 or Crime Stoppers at 704-662-1340.
