CMPD searching for suspect in shooting, attempted robbery

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public’s help in finding the man they said shot a victim several times during an attempted robbery.

The incident took place just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 21 in the 300 block of Melbourne Court, near South Boulevard, police said.

The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect left the area in a vehicle, possibly a dark-colored Honda, police said. He is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-11, with a thin build, low haircut and last seen in a gray shirt, black shorts and with a white shirt around his face.
