A Stanley man was arrested Thursday after Gaston County Police said he held a 69-year-old at gunpoint, demanded cash and medication and then ran from police.
Joshua Adam Billings, 31, was charged with first-degree kidnapping, felony breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon and several other offenses, according to officials.
Billings was arrested after, police said, he broke into a home in the 600 block of Blacksnake Road shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.
He allegedly held the 69-year-old resident at gunpoint and demanded prescription medication and money, police said.

A short foot chase ensued when officers arrived at the home, but Billings was caught and all stolen items recovered, according to police. The resident was not injured and the weapon Billings allegedly used was determined to be a BB gun.
Billings had reportedly been staying at a nearby residence on Blacksnake Road prior to the incident. He was taken into custody at Gaston County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
