An overnight checkpoint aimed at finding impaired drivers resulted in nine arrests and a number of other citations, police said Friday.
Members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and its DWI Task Force staffed the checkpoint in the 11400 block of Albemarle Road from 11 p.m. Thursday to 3:30 a.m. Friday.
Officers said the mobile breath test bus was on site to assist, and nine people were arrested for DWI.
Police also reported these citations: suspended license, five; no license, seven; open container, four; expired inspection, six; expired registration, 10; other traffic violations, four.
