Traffic conditions are improving across the Charlotte region at 9:05 a.m. Monday.
Congestion problems are easing on major highways, and several earlier collisions have been cleared. That includes a wreck on northbound Interstate 85 that had caused slow traffic near the Brookshire Freeway interchange for much of the morning commute.
A few construction projects are scheduled to close portions of Charlotte roads Monday.
Here is the 9:05 a.m. update:
Glencannon Drive, east Charlotte ... Glencannon Drive will be closed, starting Monday, between Lake Forest Road East and Woodbridge Road. The closure is scheduled until Oct. 27. This road is in the Robinhood-Dooley community near Lawyers Road and Albemarle Road.
Crews will be installing a 42-inch storm water pipe, as part of the Robinhood-Dooley Storm Drainage Improvement Project.
Austin Drive, north Charlotte ... Construction for the light rail line will require Austin Drive to be closed, starting Monday, between North Tryon Street and Elgywood Lane. The road is scheduled to be closed for about a week.
I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Davidson (Exit 30) down to Gilead Road (Exit 23).
Sam Furr Road at Black Farms Road, Huntersville ... Disabled vehicle; minor delays.
Sam Furr Road at Westmoreland Road, Huntersville ... Collision; moderate delays.
Gilead Road at Old Statesville Road, Huntersville ... Disabled vehicle; minor delays.

I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Providence Road to I-77.
Independence Boulevard inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from Eastway Drive to uptown.
Johnston Road ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph northbound from the state line to I-485.
Providence Road inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from the Arboretum area to Wendover Road.
Sharon Road at Brandon Forest Drive ... Collision; minor delays.
