A Chesterfield, S.C., man has been arrested on charges of sexual conduct with a minor, according to the S.C. Law Enforcement Division.
Agents said they have arrested James Marvin Bittle, 46. He was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Each charge carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison, officials said.
According to arrest warrants, Bittle is accused of sexual conduct with an underage boy twice between January 2007 and December 2008. The alleged incidents took place at Bittle’s home, according to the arrest warrants.
In one case, according to the warrants, Bittle became angry when the boy objected to the activity. The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office opened the investigation and asked for support from SLED, authorities said.
Authorities said it is possible that others in the Chesterfield area might have been victimized. They ask that anyone with information contact the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, 843-623-2101, or SLED, 803-896-7133.
