2 seriously hurt in south Charlotte club shooting

Two people were seriously injured early Wednesday in a shooting at a south Charlotte nightclub.

The shooting was reported about 2:30 a.m. at Club Onyx, the scene of several other violent incidents in recent years.

Police said a man and a woman were injured, and officers spent much of the night trying to determine what led to the shooting. There is no word about any suspects or arrests in the case. Medic said it transported the two victims to the Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Last November, three people were shot at Club Onyx, on Old Pineville Road between Woodlawn and Tyvola roads. A shooting in March 2013 left two people injured. Violence at the club dates back several years, including a fatal shooting in January 2008.
