Caldwell County authorities said they have arrested a man and a woman in connection with what they called a “large-scale” methamphetamine operation.
Charles Quentin McLean, 39, and Heather Nicole Swanson, 30, each of Lenoir, were arrested Monday and each charged with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine. Their arrests followed a one-year investigation, according to the sheriff’s office and other law enforcement agencies.
“The sheriff’s office believes that McLean and Swanson were responsible for bringing large amounts of methamphetamine into Caldwell County during this time,” Sheriff Alan Jones said in a news release.
Investigators said deputies stopped McLean and Swanson weeks ago and found a quarter-pound of crystal meth in their vehicle.
