The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday it has arrested a man in connection with several burglaries in the northern part of the county.
Alan Jarris Harwood, 62, of New London, was arrested late last week. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday in Albemarle, investigators said.
Deputies said they received several reports between Oct. 18 and 29 of break-ins and burglaries in the New London area. Investigators said they identified Harwood as a suspect. Musical instruments and equipment, tools and electronics were among the items taken.
Investigators said they recovered nearly $9,000 worth of stolen items.

Harwood was charged with three counts of felony breaking and entering; three counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering; and six counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense. He was jailed under $25,000 bond.
