Huntersville police are looking for a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon.
The robbery was reported shortly after 3 p.m. at the Sun Trust bank branch in the 9600 block of Holly Point Drive. No injuries were reported.
A silent alarm alerted police to the robbery, and when officers arrived they were told that the suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun and handed a note to a teller, demanding money. The suspect ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a slender build. He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, a gray-and-white hoodie-style sweatshirt, a camouflage (blue, green and white) ball cap, glasses and dark-colored tennis shoes.
