Lincoln seeks public’s help in appliance theft

Investigators with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help to identify a vehicle used during the alleged theft of appliances Saturday afternoon.

A refrigerator and electric stove were taken from the site of an apartment renovation north of Lincolnton, deputies said. The theft took place shortly after 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Springs East Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators said the appliances had been placed outside, behind a brick wall, while work was being completed on the apartment. Surveillance video shows a blue vehicle with a white top, towing a single-axle trailer, pulling up to the apartment. The vehicle is thought to be a Chevrolet Tracker or similar vehicle, deputies said.

Surveillance video shows two people getting out of the vehicle, loading the appliances on the trailer, and leaving. The stolen items have a value of $1,150, deputies said.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 704-732-9050 or Crime Stoppers, 704-736-8909.
