A Lincoln County woman faces numerous charges after being accused of crashing her vehicle into a garage where a man and two small children were hiding, authorities said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which took place Saturday afternoon during what sheriff’s deputies said was a domestic dispute. Morgan Marie Canipe, 20, of Vale, was arrested at the scene, authorities said.
Investigators said Canipe and Jamie Deaton had gotten into a domestic argument about 2 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 3000 block of Baxter Deaton Lane near Lincolnton. According to deputies, Deaton and the two children went into the garage to hide, but Canipe allegedly drove her vehicle into the door.
Deputies also allege that Canipe bit Debra Shook, who is Deaton’s mother. Deaton told investigators that Canipe was swinging a hand saw at him and his mother, and that Deaton grabbed the saw and tossed it on the roof of the house. Shook then went into the house to call police, investigators said, but they said Canipe followed the woman and bit her on the arm.
