Daughter of JCSU, Dallas Cowboys great Norman found dead

The daughter of former Charlottean and NFL standout Pettis Norman was found shot to death Monday in her apartment in Dallas, police said.

The body of Sharneen “Shawn” Norman was found at her residence in the downtown area. She was divorced and lived alone, according to the Dallas News.

Norman, 75, played at West Charlotte High School and Johnson C. Smith University before being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys, where he played for a decade. Norman is a trustee emeritus at Johnson C. Smith, where the school’s top athletic award is named for him.

According to the Dallas News story, Pettis Norman said there were no signs of a break-in at his daughter’s apartment.
