'Striped Hoodie Bandit,' accused of robbing several NC banks, is arrested

An armed serial robber who was labeled by the FBI as the "striped hoodie bandit" has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals.

Brian Dennis Kuhles, 47, is accused of robbing multiple banks in North Carolina while wearing the same striped hoodie.

A warrant for Kuhles' arrest was issued on Nov. 20 after police say he robbed a Bank of America in High Point of $4,000 at gunpoint in October. Officials also believe Kuhles robbed a First Bank in Asheboro, a Sun Trust bank in Huntersville, and a Ruscho convenience store in Lexington.

Detectives located Kuhles in Huntsville, AL in a motel parking lot. He was taken to the Madison County Jail and will be brought back to face charges in North Carolina.

The FBI says federal charges are likely.
