Lenoir man charged with selling his prescription pills

A Lenoir man has been charged with selling his prescription oxycodone pills, Caldwell County authorities said.

Lewis Edward McCandless, 46, of the 4500 block of Lovette Lane, was charged with two counts of felony trafficking in opiates, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday. Authorities allege that McCandless sold 100 of his pills to a “cooperating witness.”

The pills had a street value of $1,200, according to the sheriff’s office.
