S.C. robbery suspect charged in Charlotte case

A Lancaster County, S.C., man already facing robbery-related charges in South Carolina has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Charlotte, authorities said Friday.

Alexis Rodriguez, 30, faces charges following the Nov. 28 robbery of a Circle K store in the 100 block of Red Roof Drive, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

The suspect was described as wearing a scarf and a gray Dodgers sweatshirt. CMPD said it learned on Tuesday that law enforcement in Rock Hill and Lancaster County were investigating armed robberies with a similar suspect description.

Rodriguez was arrested Thursday by Lancaster County sheriff’s deputies on three counts each of armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime from three separate incidents over the past week, S.C. authorities said.
