One person fired at a moving car during a fight near SouthPark mall Monday evening, and police are trying to find a suspect and piece together what happened.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the 6:30 p.m. shooting was not connected to SouthPark mall, which is in the same block on Sharon Road.
According to police, two people had an altercation near the intersection of Morrison Boulevard and Sharon Road. Both got into their vehicles and started to drive on Sharon Road.
As one driver attempted to make a U-turn at an intersection, the other fired shots into the vehicle. Both drivers then fled. Police say a hit-and-run at that intersection also was connected to the shooting.

A short time later, someone showed up at Northeast Regional Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound that police say is connected to the incident.
No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said. Officials did not issue descriptions of any suspects.
