Suspect in killings surrenders to Mecklenburg Sheriff’s Office

A man charged in the deaths of two people killed during a drug deal in northwest Charlotte last week surrendered to authorities on Sunday.

Gerian Eugene Taylor, 20, was charged with murder and attempted robbery in connection with Thursday morning’s killings, police said.

Jeanila Adams Weber, 44, and Donald Ray Matthews, 52, were shot to death Thursday morning during a drug deal in their home in the 200 block of West Avenue, near Rozzelles Ferry Road in northwest Charlotte, police said.

Police identified Taylor as a suspect in the killings on Friday and asked the public to help investigators find him.

On Sunday, Taylor turned himself in at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. Cleve R. Wootson Jr.
