Suspect sought in Mooresville car break-ins

Iredell County sheriff’s investigators have released video surveillance images in hopes of finding the man who broke into cars at Pebble’s Automotive on Oakridge Farm Highway (N.C. 150) east of Mooresville this week.

About 1:20 a.m. Monday, investigators said, a dark four-door sedan with racing stripes pulled into the Pebble’s parking lot. The vehicle, which traveled west from Rowan County, was missing its right front hub cap, investigators said.

A driver, described as white, 6-feet-tall and 180 or 190 pounds, entered several vehicles and stole tools, gift cards and other items, authorities said. The thief then drove east toward Rowan County.

Authorities ask that anyone with information about the thief call the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3180 or Iredell/Statesville Crime Stoppers 704-662-1340.
