Police: Thieves steal iPhones, boots from Charlotte private school

Vandals broke into a Charlotte private school on Monday and pilfered iPhones, headphones, cash and boots from lockers belonging to several female students while students were out for the holiday, police say.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were sent to Providence Day School on Sardis Road at about noon when a school administrator reported that someone broke into a female locker room, according to a department incident report.

Eight teenage girls, ages ranging from 14 to 17, are listed as victims on the report. Items reportedly stolen include iPhones, with values ranging from $150 to $600, a pair of headphones worth $300 and a pair of $160 boots, according to police. The suspects also took $20 from one girl’s locker.

Students had the day off from school in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
