Boyd left with other people from the home by the time police arrived. Police said they are investigating whether Boyd took the others against their will. Boyd was apprehended without incident at about 3 p.m., police said.
“The Gaston County Police expresses gratitude to the Concord Police Department and Burlington Police Department for their assistance in this case,” the department said in announcing Boyd’s arrest.
Police declined to release any other details about the killing, including a motive.
