A Hiddenite man was sentenced to seven years and five months in federal prison this week for downloading and sharing child pornography over the internet.
Joshua Lynn Cook, 32, pleaded guilty in January to one count each of transportation, receipt and possession of child pornography.
On April 14, 2014, Cook shared child pornography with an undercover agent at least three times over the internet, court records show.

Authorities found at least 6,000 images and 427 videos of child pornography on Cook’s computer and cellphone, prosecutors said. The pornography was produced in Washington, Germany, France and elsewhere, records show.
