Arrests made in two Charlotte armed robberies

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested and charged two men in the June 4 robbery of LA Insurance, on Westerly Hills Drive off Wilkinson Boulevard, and the Jan. 23 robbery of Rite-Aid on Little Rock Road.

The robberies were among 15 over eight months that prompted a police news conference on Jan. 23. Police said Saturday they’re investigating whether the men arrested in the LA Insurance and Rite-Aid robberies were involved in any of the others.

Police arrested Montreal Forman, 24, and Tyrell McDuffie, 23.

Forman was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping.

McDuffie was charged with two counts of second-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

On Friday, police said, Forman and McDuffie agreed to go to police headquarters to be interviewed. They were arrested once they were interviewed, police said.

Anyone with information in the 15 robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
