Rowan County elementary school placed on lock down during nearby meth bust

Granite Quarry Elementary School in Rowan County was placed on lock down Friday as investigators arrested two suspects and dismantled a meth lab in a nearby home.

The home is in the 100 block of North Oak Street. Officers arrested and charged William Dean Honbarrier, 27, who lives in the home, and Wesley James Morton, 25, also of Granite Quarry with various meth-related offenses, including manufacturing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

Morton was in the Rowan County Detention Center on $25,000 bail Saturday and Honbarrier on $35,000 bail.
