Rowan County sheriff’s investigators have arrested six people on drug charges, including five who investigators said sold cocaine and prescription drugs to undercover officers.
The sixth suspect is a registered sex offender who was found with heroin during a traffic stop, investigators said.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, Spencer Police Department and the China Grove Police Department assisted Rowan County authorities in the investigation.

• Derrick Jewone Blackwell, 42, of China Grove, charged with selling cocaine, delivering cocaine, possessing with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, conspiracy to sell cocaine, conspiracy to deliver cocaine, possessing with intent to sell and deliver a counterfeit controlled substance, and selling/delivering a counterfeit controlled substance. Blackwell was jailed on $25,000 bail.
• Jerry Phillip Ritchie Jr., 52, of Davidson Road in Cabarrus County, charged with selling/delivering oxycodone, possessing with intent to sell/deliver oxycodone, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place to keep and sell controlled substances, and manufacturing/selling/delivering/possessing controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school. He was jailed on $75,000 bail.
• Sheila Bobbitt Smith, 44, of Salisbury, charged with selling/delivering oxycodone, possessing with intent to sell/deliver oxycodone, and trafficking heroin/opium. She was jailed on $75,000 bail.
• Michael Tyrone Bost, 51, of Salisbury, charged with conspiring to sell oxycodone. He was jailed on a $10,000 bail.
On Feb. 1, Jeffrey Alan Nunn, 42, of Woodleaf was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop. He was jailed on $1,000 bail.
Nunn was convicted in 2006 of four felony counts of second-degree rape and indecent liberties with a child. In 2013, he was convicted of failure to report a change of address as a registered sex offender.
On Tuesday, Brenda Kay Clark, 38, of Rockwell was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, selling cocaine, delivering cocaine and conspiracy to sell cocaine. She was jailed on $20,000 bail.
