Officials in Monroe are planning to give Roosevelt Boulevard a good sweeping starting Wednesday, and that could mean slower-moving traffic for those traveling the same route.
Lanes will be closed temporarily between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to allow crews to sweep over a period of about two weeks, according to a notice from the city of Monroe’s Street Division.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area during those hours and use other routes.
Those who do encounter a sweeper should stay at least three car lengths from it to avoid damage from flying debris.
