The report will be issued during the school board meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center. The meeting will be carried live on cable channel 3, available to Time-Warner customers.
The presence of gang members and gang activity in the schools has been a matter of debate among board members.
NewsChannel36, the Observer's news partner, said it has received a preliminary copy of the report. It will show the presence of about 70 gangs and 450 gang members in CMS.
Tonight's board meeting also is expected to include the appointment of several principals and assistant principals, plus an update on the opening of school later this month.
