Whitewater Middle students who participate in the school’s Gentlemen’s League have taken the lead in organizing food drives, College Day, Spirit Week and their school’s first homecoming.
The Gentlemen’s League, an all-male mentorship program designed to turn boys of all ethnicities and backgrounds into global leaders, is a pilot program for other Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools middle schools. More than 40 mentors from throughout the area are participating.
The 55-student Gentlemen’s League consists of Charles Anthony, Malik Anthony, Carl Bailey, Keon Banks, Justin Brevard, Amuri Brown, Branden Brunelle, BreShon Bullock, Damorian Cooper, Deandre Crawford, Christopher Crum, Baasim Davenport, Daniel Eury, Naseer Fairfax, Ahmid Fofana, Antonio Funderburk, Quentin Gabriel, Shamel Ganiyou, King Tecpile Gonzalez, Demico Guy, Rodney Hall, Marquise Harold, Karon Hicks, Lamonte Joines, Paquito Lowery, Malik McCall, James McDowell, TaCarrius Maxwell, Carlos Means, Canae Monteiro, Jamirious Mooney, Devion Moore, D’Michael Nance, Christopher Neal, Jayden Oliphant, Leon Patterson, Jair Perea, Michael Rich, Eddie Rivas, Carlos Rivera, Elijah Robinson, Davila Roseboro, Joshua Skipper, Deion Sloan, Marquise Steele, Avian Taylor, Brandon Thomas, Camden Thomas, Damarcus Thompson, Marquavious Townsend, Joshua West, Jacoy Whitener, Delmeleo Williams, Jehlani Williams and Timothy Willis.
