South Mecklenburg High senior Drew Kromer, who heads the school’s TV club, unveiled a new studio this week, the culmination of six months of work and more than $150,000 in donated supplies and labor.
Work on the studio, which features a news desk, green screen, two alternate sets, a command center and anchor’s lounge, entailed massive renovations to a wing of the library building.
Up to now, the club has produced weekly 15-minute shows. The hope, Kromer said, is to make them daily. Their first broadcast from the new studio will be Friday.
