Terri Cockerham, the chief human resources officer of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, is retiring this week, Deputy Superintendent Ann Clark said.
Cockerham began her career with CMS in 1983 as a substitute teacher and was hired full time a year later. In her latest role, she oversaw the department responsible for the district’s 18,000-plus employees. She was named to the position in a 2013 management reorganization.
She previously served as the first principal of Hough High, after working as a principal at Providence High and Eastway Middle. Thursday was her last day, Clark said. Andrew Dunn
