Representatives of about two dozen charter schools in the Charlotte area will tell parents about their programs at a hotel in the University City area Thursday evening.
The charter school fair will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn at 8520 University Executive Park Drive.
Mecklenburg County has been the epicenter of the charter school movement in North Carolina since 2011, when the state legislature lifted the long-standing cap on charter schools in the state.
The county now has 22 charter schools, with several more set to open in the coming years.
