The N.C. Republican Party’s new spokeswoman comes from the primary group backing House Bill 2.
Kami Mueller was named the party’s communications director on Monday. She’d previously worked with Tami Fitzgerald at the N.C. Values Coalition and its KeepNCSafe campaign, which has been the main lobbying group rallying support for the controversial LGBT law.
Mueller has also worked for Lt. Gov. Dan Forest, the Alliance Defending Freedom and Susan B. Anthony List.
“Miss Mueller is a seasoned communications professional,” party chairman Robin Hayes said in a news release. “She is knowledgeable and articulate on the issues with a style that is both winsome and approachable. We are in a new era of the Republican Party in North Carolina, and Miss Mueller is an excellent representative of that exciting new heartbeat.”
