GenerationEngage, a non-profit that aims to encourage young people to get involved with politics, will host a convention party on Saturday.
The event will feature a screening of the documentary, “Darfur Now,” a debate among candidates for the at-large seats on the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, and a concert featuring local artists GoGo Pilot, Rudy Currence and Kali Ferguson.

The event is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at the Neighborhood Theatre, 511 E. 36th St. in Charlotte. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The party is free, but donations are encouraged.
