What you don’t know about famous Richland County Deputy from ‘Live PD’
It’s been a while since Investigators Kevin Lawrence and Chris Mastrianni were seen on camera together, but the two “Live PD” fan favorites recently reunited to give Mastrianni a shave for a good cause.
Mastrianni is raising money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancers, and let Lawrence shave his head last week as part of the effort.
“I’ve never cut hair before, Chris,” Lawrence says with a set of clippers in his hand, in a video posted to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s Twitter page.
Both Lawrence and Mastrianni were among the original officers on the A&E documentary series “Live PD,” and left the show last year after taking promotions to the investigations division at the sheriff’s department.
Mastrianni said in the video that he has been involved with St. Baldrick’s for several years. He has raised about $1,600 of his $10,000 goal, as of Sunday. If he reaches the $10,000 goal, he will suit up in a bite suite and get bitten by one of the department’s K-9s.
“Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer,” Mastrianni said on his donation page. “Help me fund the research that will save their lives!”
Pediatric cancers are significantly underfunded, according to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which notes that less than 4 percent of all U.S. federal cancer research funding is dedicated solely for childhood cancers.
