The weather will cooperate for a big holiday weekend of activities in the Charlotte area, forecasters say.

Easter egg hunts, Easter sunrise services and Passover Seders all should be met with good weather.

After a mild chance of rain on Thursday, the weekend starts with warmer than normal temperatures Friday, with highs reaching 79 degrees, said National Weather Service meteorologist Danny Gant. That’s 11 degrees above the average high of 68 degrees.

There is another mild chance of rain overnight Friday, although any lingering showers should be gone by early Saturday, Gant said.

From there, it’s sunny skies and warm air for the rest of the weekend. Highs on both Saturday and Sunday should be in the mid-60s.

“It will be as good as you can ask for,” Gant said.

The seasonal spring weather extends into Monday. The weather service expects a partly sunny day and high near 68, with another chance of showers Monday night.
